Japanese Beetle Treatment Notice
On Friday, May 24, crews will be on-site in the area around Swangard Stadium for Japanese Beetle larvicide treatment. The pathways around Swangard will remain open, but visitors must not leave the trails, and will not have access to lawn areas. The larvicide we use in treatment (Acelepryn) is not harmful to you, your pets, other animals, or other pollinators like bees and butterflies.

A world-class sports facility in our own backyard

This multi-purpose stadium is located in the northwest corner of Central Park. It's one of BC's premier sports and athletic facilities for provincial, national and international league soccer, rugby, football and track and field events. But there's action at the local level too–watch for fun family activities throughout the year. Please note:

  1. There is no program registration at this facility.
  2. Dogs are not allowed at Swangard unless they're service dogs.
  3. Stadium staff don't patrol the trails in Central Park.
  4. For filming inquiries, please contact the Burnaby Film Office directly. 

Facility features

Please note: The public track is being replaced. It is currently closed to the public until further notice.

The rubberized surface on Swangard's 8 lane, 400-metre Olympic regulation oval track makes it more comfortable to run or walk long distances. You're welcome to use the track when the stadium is open to the public.

Swangard Stadium’s natural grass field accommodates a variety of sports including soccer, football, rugby and field lacrosse.

Swangard Stadium is available to rent for events and tournaments.

There are concession stands in the stadium for general food service.

Parking

There is one designated parking stall in the main parking lot accessed from Kingsway near Smith Avenue. Ten additional designated stalls are located in the Central Park Playground parking lot. An asphalt path provides access to the main entrance gate located 300 metres from the main parking area. There are two designated parking stalls in the swimming pool parking lot accessed off Boundary Road at 46th Avenue. An asphalt path provides access to the main entrance gate. Additional designated stalls in the VIP lot south of the stadium are available only by prior arrangement.

Entry/ Interior Access

The main entrance gate to the Stadium is accessible. Accessible viewing positions are available in sections C and D. The access ramp to the viewing positions is very steep. The concession stand is accessible.

Washrooms

Washrooms provided on the main level are accessible. Change rooms are accessible. However, the changeroom washrooms are not wheelchair accessible.

As an in-demand major league sports and tournament facility, Swangard Stadium is often closed to the public due to event bookings. Please check the schedule below.

Parking

Free parking is available and is located at the lot on Boundary Rd and 47th Avenue and the east lot, accessible from Kingsway.

Accessibility

Designated parking stalls and washrooms are available. Swangard Stadium is equipped with a wheelchair ramp to the accessible spectator seating and viewing area in sections C and D.

Your service dog is welcome–only trained service dogs are allowed at the stadium.
