Cameron–the civic heart of Lougheed Town Centre

Plans are underway to replace the Cameron Community Centre and Library with new facilities designed to better meet the needs of northeast Burnaby's growing and changing population.

While construction is underway, enjoy programs and activities at our temporary location located inside The City of Lougheed Shopping Centre (lower level across from the cellphone providers aisle, near Guest Services).

Activities at Charles Rummel

During construction of the new facility, more fitness classes and preschool/children activities will be offered at nearby Charles Rummel Centre.

Connect with your child at PlayZone

Drop-in for this new play-based activity at Temporary Cameron, featuring fine motor play, sensory activities, crafts and toys.

PlayZone details:

children 1-5 years ($5.90 per child, additional sibling 50% off)
children must be accompanied by at least one participating adult
pre mobile infants are welcome if they are in a stroller or a snuggly
drop-in only (first come first served up to a maximum of 40 people total)
drop-in payments begin 30 minutes prior to activity start time
schedule subject to change (not available on statutory holidays)

There’s still availability in our children activities such as Charades & Pictionary, Art Attack and Chess, Cards & Games Club.

Browse winter activities and add favourites to your Wish List. Registration will open at 10 am for Burnaby residents on the following dates:

December 2: Recreation activities (excluding skating lessons)
December 3: Arts and heritage activities

General registration for everyone will be open December 6 for recreation, arts and heritage activities. Reminder: Rolling registrations continue for swimming and skating lessons.

Facility features

Temporary Cameron's 55+ Centre is one of 4 Burnaby centres that specialize in programs for adults 55 years and older. These are busy, friendly places where you can meet and socialize, learn new skills and enjoy creative leisure time.

Come to our library serving northeast Burnaby to learn, meet with others, request services or simply sink into a good book. Get into our print, audio-visual and digital collections; ask for help with technology and information; book community meeting rooms; or try one of our programs.

The Temporary Cameron Community Centre is located on the main level of The City of Lougheed Shopping Centre.

There are elevators in the mall to get to and from the upper floor, including from the roof level where there is additional parking. The mall has designated parking stalls and accessible washrooms.
