Artist Bios:
Dear Rouge
For over 10 years now, Dear Rouge, the alternative rock duo of Drew and Danielle McTaggart, have been winning over fans consistently and hitting new career heights. Following their major label debut record, 2015’s Black To Gold, the couple picked up multiple Top 10 radio hits, the 2015 SOCAN Songwriting Prize, and the 2016 Juno for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Dear Rouge continued their upward trajectory with their 2018 sophomore album PHASES which included the lead single “Boys and Blondes” and the #1 Alternative Rock hit, “Live Through The Night”. Along the way, they opened for artists like Phantogram, Arkells, Our Lady Peace, and Lights, and also wowed crowds on major festival stages from coast to coast with their energetic and dynamic live performances.
Tanika Charles
2x Juno Awards R&B/Soul Recording of the Year nominee and 3x Polaris Music Prize long-list nominee Tanika Charles in synonymous with Canadian Soul music. Her music revels in honesty and attitude, her live show is high energy and endearing, and she continues to organically win audiences over one album, one stream, and one encore at a time.
Hayley Wallis
The rich textured tone of singer songwriter Hayley Wallis’ voice has an unmistakable confidence that is immediately recognizable. Hayley delivers a powerful emotional performance that evokes a response as dynamic as her vocal range. She is part of the Kitasoo/Xais’xais Nation, originally from Klemtu, a small isolated island located in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia. Hayley is well on her way to breaking into the scene with her debut single coffee cup, a relatable soulful pop anthem about mental health and reaching out for help. She began her musical journey at a young age, singing for her family and community, and credits their support for developing the passion she now has.
Tiger Really
Starting out as a stupid pun on the name of a flower, Tiger Really has since become something like a life journal for Vancouver songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Lian Shao. Through confessional lyricism and symbolic wordplay, Lian documents the various events and people in his life with the aim of remembering how it feels to change, fail, grow apart, and love.
In a way, Tiger Really is a time capsule of emotions, expressed with a mix of influences from jazz, emo, punk and indie-rock. This strange combination of genres creates a melancholic yet energetic sound that gives listeners a peek into a moment of time, and delivers a very specific snapshot of feelings, frozen in song.
Tiger Really is set to release their debut full length album "Swan Sting" in 2024 with Counter Intuitive records.
