The City of Burnaby celebrated the grand reopening of the upgraded Jack Crosby Sports Box at Riverway on May 3 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and photo opportunity with key community figures.

"These upgrades to the Jack Crosby Sports Box transformed this facility into a year-round hub, making it easier for people of all ages to be active participate in sports,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “This sports box is not only a space for athletic excellence but also a place for families and friends to come together and create lasting memories."

Since reopening to the public in April 2024, the upgraded Jack Crosby Sports Box has supported a wide range of sports such as lacrosse, ball hockey, volleyball, pickleball and badminton.

This investment is another example of Burnaby’s commitment to providing high-quality recreational facilities that serve the diverse needs of the community.
