Willingdon Heights Park Dog Off-leash Area
The City has opened a new fenced-in off-leash area for dogs in the southern tip of the Willingdon Heights Park. - Completed
Barnet Marine Park Dog Off-leash Area
The City has completed construction of an expanded dog off-leash area at Barnet Marine Park, extending the amount of off-leash trail from 400m to 920m. - In progress
Engineering Capital Works
Every year, projects to improve drainage, lighting, roads, sewers and water are happening in neighbourhoods throughout Burnaby. - Completed
Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre
Construction is now complete for an 8,550 square metre arena with 2 NHL-sized rinks to support the recreation needs of our growing community. - Planned
Burnaby Lake Recreation Complex
Burnaby City Council has approved the Burnaby Lake Recreation Complex project to advance into detailed design, an important step towards realizing an exciting new aquatic and arena facility at Burnaby Lake. - Completed
Laurel Street Works Yard
We've replaced the aging works yard facility at 5780 Laurel Street with a state-of-the-art new facility to provide effective and efficient public works and infrastructure services for the community. - In progress
Holdom Overpass
Led by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, this proposed overpass is part of the Burnaby Rail Corridor Improvements Project. - In progress
Burnaby Mountain Gondola
A project proposed by TransLink, a gondola is being considered to provide fast, frequent and reliable service between SkyTrain and Burnaby Mountain. - Planned
Pacific Tennis Centre
This state-of-the-art tennis facility will be located in the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex (BLSC). Its creation is a partnership between Tennis Canada and the City of Burnaby, which owns and operates BLSC. - Completed
Active Sidewalks, Open Businesses
A simple, expedited process to assist local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic to temporarily add outdoor seating or expand their services outdoors. - In progress
Trans Mountain Expansion Project
In spite of significant and sustained opposition from hundreds of individuals, as well as governments, not-for-profit organizations and First Nations, on June 18, 2019, the Government of Canada approved the Trans Mountain Expansion Project—a 1,150-kilometre pipeline between Edmonton, Alberta, and Burnaby, B.C. Construction is now under way.
