Kensington Complex in North Burnaby offers ice skating and other ice sports during the fall and winter, in-line skating during the spring, and activities for preschoolers and children during the spring and summer.

Activities
Registration for fall activities is open!
Browse winter activities and add favourites to your Wish List. Registration will open at 10 am for Burnaby residents on December 2 for Recreation activities (excluding skating lessons). General registration for everyone will be open December 6.
You can register for skating lessons 30 days in advance of the lesson start date at 10 am if you are a Burnaby resident, or 27 days in advance at 10 am if you are not.

With its NHL regulation ice rink and spectator seating, the arena in Kensington Complex offers ice skating and other ice sports, including hockey and figure skating in the fall and winter, along with skating camps during winter school breaks. In spring and summer, the ice is removed and the rink is converted to dry-floor use for in-line skating, lacrosse and summer camps.

You can rent hockey and figure skates at our shop for a fee. Helmets are available at no charge.
Our Toonie Skate admission fee includes skate and helmet rental available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note: A CSA-approved hockey helmet is mandatory for all skate lessons and children 12 years and under.
Accessibility
Kensington Complex has ice sledges, skating assists and ice scooters available during the fall and winter season for people with disabilities.
A person 16 years of age or older must accompany children 7 years of age or younger on the ice or floor. The ratio of child to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1. We recommend that as parents, you don't leave your children under 10 years of age unaccompanied at our facility. For children 12 years and under, a CSA-approved helmet is mandatory.
Parking
There are two designated parking stalls provided in the parking lot, but stairs prevent direct access between the parking lot and the facility. Mobility device users can access the facility via Curtis Street.
Entry/Interior Access
There is level access to the lobby, the arena, and the administration area. Mobility device access to the upper level viewing positions is provided through the west side building entrance.
On the ice
There is a seven inch drop to the ice surface. Kensington Complex has ice sledges, skating assists and ice scooters available during the fall and winter season for anyone that needs a bit of extra support.
Washrooms
Both the men’s and women’s washrooms have an accessible stall. By arrangement with staff, access can be provided to a larger, universal staff washroom.

Parking
Free parking is on the west side of the complex, off of Curtis Street. The parking lot is shared with the Kensington Park Pitch & Putt. There's also limited street parking along Curtis St.
