Burnaby is developing a Tenant Protection Bylaw and associated development permit area that will replace the City’s Tenant Assistance Policy. - Planned
eCheck Digital Building Permit Review Tool
The City of Burnaby has launched a pilot program to use new digital tools to speed up residential building permit processing. - Planned
Brentwood Community Centre
The Brentwood Community Centre will become the vibrant civic heart of the Brentwood Town Centre neighbourhood, serving as a dynamic, inclusive and sustainable urban hub where the community can gather, connect and be active. - In progress

Edmonds Speed and Traffic Management Study
The City is conducting an Edmonds Speed and Traffic Management Study to better understand speed and traffic concerns and identify potential improvements for the area bounded by Edmonds Street, Kingsway Avenue, Canada Way and the New Westminster border. - Completed

The City conducted a Travel Benchmark Survey to understand how residents are travelling and to benchmark and update the City’s progress towards the goals and objectives outlined in Connecting Burnaby. - Planned
Full-scale Emergency Exercise
The City of Burnaby is initiating a multi-year emergency preparedness training and exercise program that will culminate with a large multi-agency full-scale emergency exercise. - Planned
Ernie Winch Park Community Garden
This project will build a community garden on City-owned land in Ernie Winch Park, located near Edmonds Town Centre in southeast Burnaby. - Planned

We’re improving the park’s resilience to flooding and enhancing the accessibility and connectivity of the park and playground for residents living in the Brentwood area. - Planned

A recent rezoning application provides the opportunity for amendments to the Broadview Community Plan that will provide increased housing options and public space improvements in the area. - In progress
Burnaby Poverty Reduction Strategy
The City is working to develop a community-based poverty reduction strategy in Burnaby. The project is co-led by the Burnaby Neighbourhood House (BNH) and Burnaby Family Life (BFL), with the intent to reduce poverty at a local level and support the Province’s poverty reduction strategy, TogetherBC. - Planned
