About this project
Spanning 86 hectares, Central Park features lush forests and trails, recreation and sports facilities, various park amenities, and hosts many community events. The City of Burnaby is creating the Central Park Master Plan (CPMP) as a long-term vision that will guide future improvements of the park over the next few decades.
The CPMP will be created in 2 phases. Phase 1 focuses on the planning and design of the open space located at Kingsway and Patterson Avenue. The key deliverables of Phase 1 include a one-of-a-kind destination playground, community plazas/event spaces, as well as washroom and concession facilities. This area is a critical gateway in the proposed linear park along the BC Parkway and has been identified as a priority for enhancement to create stronger connections to the community.
