Welcome to Burnaby Art Gallery

As the only public art museum in Canada dedicated to collecting works of art on paper, the gallery endeavours to represent a variety of techniques and practices from artists of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The Burnaby Art Gallery will be closed for the installation of our next exhibition, Arts Alive and Artist Apprenticeship from April 22-30. Please join us in the opening reception May 1, 7-9 pm or when we reopen with regular hours on Friday, May 2.

Catch the final exhibition dates of Kim Kennedy Austin's Booster Club on until Sunday, April 20. Please note that we will be closed Friday, April 18 (Good Friday).

What's on

Our exhibitions form the basis of our programming and outreach to thousands of visitors every year. Learn more about art at one of our engaging curator and artist talks or tours, participate in a symposium, or view our permanent art collection. We offer demonstrations, workshops, and school programs with artists, educators and other specialists.

Our exhibitions change regularly and admission is always free, though donations are graciously accepted.

Parking

  • The Burnaby Art Gallery offers 3-hour free parking with a total of 44 available public parking stalls, including two accessible parking spots.
  • 2 electric vehicle spaces are available on Deer Lake Avenue.
  • Deer Lake Avenue also has some street parking. After business hours, there may be additional free parking areas at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and the Burnaby Village Museum.

Accessibility

  • There are two designated parking stalls provided in the surface parking next to the gallery entrance.
  • There is a paved path leading to a wheelchair lift that provides access to the main floor of the Burnaby Art Gallery. The lift is located to the left of the front entrance. The second level is not wheelchair accessible. 
  • There is a wheelchair accessible washroom located on the main floor.
