An international organization representing finance officials has awarded the City of Burnaby its Certificate of Excellence, recognizing the City’s continued commitment to professionalism and best practices when it comes to managing public funds.
The City has passed the Investment Policy Certification Program, which is administered by the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada. The organization represents public treasury and finance officials in local, county, state and provincial governments throughout North America.
To receive the Certificate of Excellence, the City must demonstrate that our public funds are managed in a professional way, meeting or exceeding high standards across 18 categories, including ethics, diversification and reporting.
