The City of Burnaby will host a public safety briefing from Fire Chief Chris Bowcock for Burnaby Mountain residents focusing on recent enhancements to the City’s emergency and fire safety measures.
“The safety and security of all Burnaby residents is our top priority and we have invested significant time and resources—including opening two new fire halls— to enhance our response capacity in the Burnaby Mountain area,” said Mayor Hurley. “We’re aiming to connect directly with residents to share more information about our comprehensive community safety plans.”

When: Tuesday, April 2, at 7 pm
Where: Forest Grove Elementary (8525 Forest Grove Dr.) in the gymnasium.
Chief Bowcock will provide an update about new wildfire firefighting equipment and training, and share details about the two new fire stations opening in northeast Burnaby later this year.
Fire Station 4 is slated to open this spring, while Fire Station 8 on Burnaby Mountain will open later this year. Both stations have been designed to meet post-disaster standards.
