A popular springtime event returns to our community in May as the City once again welcomes Burnaby Blooms, a family-friendly event that embraces the many benefits of nature with a sense of fun, wonder and creativity.
Join us for the big kick-off on Sunday, May 5 from 11 am to 4 pm, at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and Deer Lake Park.
There will be so much to enjoy, including: thought-provoking eco-art installations, educational and cultural walking tours, kids’ yoga, a labyrinth and plant sales. There will also be an expert speaker series on topics including gardening, ikebana, naturopathy and mason bees. Entertainment on site will include roving performers, live music and a fabulous kid’s stage featuring free family-friendly entertainment all day. Food trucks will also be on site to keep everyone nourished and ready for more fun and exploration.
Be inspired by stunning art displays made of flowers, plants and natural materials while enjoying the beauty of Deer Lake Park.
Burnaby Blooms micro-events return
As in past years we will also once again hold Burnaby Blooms micro-events on May 18 at the Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area and on May 25 along the BC Parkway (Metrotown and Patterson stations) where you can participate in fun activities for all ages.
Burnaby Blooms promotes the long-term sustainability and the ecological health of our community in a fun and creative environment. Mark your calendars and plan to join us for hours of fun at one of Burnaby’s favourite spring festivals.
New in 2024, all activities will be free with no registration required.
