Last updated: July 3, 2024

The City of Burnaby has some great ways to celebrate summer with free live entertainment and outdoor movie nights in several of the city’s spectacular parks.

Summer Stages at Confederation Park (by the spray park), starts July 9. Every Tuesday to Thursday until August 29, enjoy 2 amazing live performances every day at 11:30am and 2 pm. Top-notch family friendly entertainers include Elvis tribute artist Aaron Wong, the ever popular Will’s Jams, breathtaking vocals with the Burnaby Lyric Opera, Bollywood Dance fun with Karima Essa and much more! For a full listing of all performers, visit Burnaby.ca/SummerStages

Also keep an eye out for live music in parks throughout Burnaby every Wednesday to Friday, July 5 until August 30, with the return of Sounds Like Summer. Listen to the dreamy vocals of Teresa Marie, fun tunes with Ricardo & Sabrielle, and RnB with singer / songwriter Glisha. For a full schedule of pop-up performances by local musicians, visit Burnaby.ca/SoundsLikeSummer.

Returning on Friday evenings this August is Burnaby’s popular Summer Cinema, with an amazing round-up of family-friendly movies. The movie series kicks off on with Mean Girls at the Confederation Park running track (August 2). The fun continues at Civic Square (outside the Bob Prittie Library at Metrotown), with Barbie (August 16), Wonka (August 23), and Sonic 2 (August 30).  Movies start at 8:15 pm, rain or shine.

Arrive early for a double feature of fun and meet costumed characters from each movie!
