The City of Burnaby is inviting the community to join in the celebration of Cameron Recreation Complex's over 40 years of community service on Saturday, August 17, from 10 am to 1 pm.
The farewell event will have free, family-friendly events including face painting, games, fitness demonstrations and music, as well as food trucks and exhibitions by local community organizations.
Cameron Recreation Complex will close on Sunday, August 18 in preparation for construction and the move into the temporary location at The City of Lougheed Shopping Centre that will re-open on Tuesday, September 3. Construction on the new Cameron Community Centre and Library is anticipated to start in the fall.
