Fire Chief Chris Bowcock has retired from his role at the Burnaby Fire Department after 30 years of service.

“On behalf of the entire community, I want to thank Chief Bowcock for his service to our community over the last three decades,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “Chris has been an instrumental part of building the Burnaby Fire Department into a modern and highly effective firefighting unit. His expertise and leadership have helped make our community a safer place.”

Chief Bowcock’s final day of service with the Burnaby Fire Department was July 26 and the City will begin the process to hire a new permanent Chief in the near future.
