City of Burnaby celebrates record-breaking attendance at Halloween events

The City of Burnaby is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of its Halloween events, which drew record-breaking attendance and brought the community together for a series of spooktacular celebrations.

From October 23 to November 1, Burnaby hosted a variety of Halloween-themed events, including the highly anticipated Central Spark, Haunted Village, and multiple themed Toonie Skates and celebrations in our recreation facilities. These events attracted over 50,000 attendees, surpassing previous years’ numbers and highlighting Burnaby’s growing reputation as a premier Halloween destination. 

Event Highlights:

  • Central Spark (October 25) at Central Park featured a lively dance party, spooky entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. The event attracted more than 35,000 attendees, making it one of the most attended Halloween events in the city.
  • Haunted Village (October 23-27), featured Burnaby Village Museum transformed into a family-friendly haunted experience, delighting over 16,000 visitors with spooky displays, activities and entertainment. 
  • Themed Toonie Skates: Various ice-skating events, including the Vampires & Zombies Teen Toonie Skate and the Ghouls & Goblins Toonie Skate, provided fun and festive activities for all ages.

“It’s wonderful to see the community coming out to enjoy these events and it’s great to hear the positive feedback from residents and visitors alike,” said Mayor Mike Hurley. “These events not only provide fun and entertainment but also strengthen our community bonds.”

The City of Burnaby extends thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors and City staff who made these events possible. Their dedication and hard work ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
