City seeks input for Burnaby’s draft Urban Forest Strategy

Last updated: January 22, 2025

The City of Burnaby is inviting community members to provide feedback on the draft Urban Forest Strategy, which encompasses all trees and green spaces across the city, on both public and private land.

The draft Urban Forest Strategy was informed by feedback and comments from residents, host Nations, community partners and other members of the public during our public consultation in spring 2024. The draft Strategy is now available for review, and we want to hear your thoughts again!

Share your voice in the following ways:

  • Take part in our survey: Burnaby residents are invited to complete a survey at Burnaby.ca/UrbanForest. The survey deadline is February 10, 2025.
  • Attend one of the two open houses: Public can also ask questions and share their input at an open house.
    • February 4, 6-7:15 pm online via Zoom (RSVP by 12 pm, February 4 at [email protected]
    • February 5, 5:30-7:30 pm at Christine Sinclair Community Centre
  • Send an email: Email us about your thoughts on the draft Strategy at [email protected].

Once approved, the Urban Forest Strategy will be a roadmap for creating a diverse, resilient and healthy urban forest by protecting, preserving, restoring and expanding tree cover throughout Burnaby.
