Burnaby 2050: Share your feedback on the draft OCP in the final phase

Last updated: April 9, 2025

The City of Burnaby is excited to announce the final phase of community engagement for the draft Official Community Plan (OCP). This is your chance to shape the future of our city.

Over the past three years, you’ve shared what you love about Burnaby, what you want to change, and your vision for the future of the community. This input has helped create the draft OCP. In this final phase, we invite you to review the draft OCP and confirm that it reflects the community’s values and priorities for long-term growth.

"The new Official Community Plan will be the foundation for our city, and public feedback is essential," said Mayor Mike Hurley. "This is the final phase of community engagement. I encourage Burnaby residents, businesses and community organizations to participate in the online survey and open houses. Your insights will be crucial in shaping Burnaby's future."

  • Attend an open house:
    • Four in-person sessions will be held in April and May at various locations across the city. Registration is encouraged but not required.
    • A virtual open house will be hosted on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 6:30 to 8 pm. Registration is required to receive the meeting link. Please sign up at Burnaby.ca/Burnaby2050Survey
  • Take the online survey:
    • Share your feedback by taking the online survey. The deadline is Sunday, May 11, 2025

An OCP is a City bylaw that guides the growth and development of a community. Burnaby’s OCP was adopted in 1998 and most recently updated and revised in 2023. The feedback collected during this phase will be used to refine the final OCP document before it is adopted by City Council later this year.
