Skating at Kensington Complex
First time on the ice–or a rink regular? We offer lots of opportunities to learn and enjoy ice skating through lessons, public skates or hockey, for all ages and abilities.
During the spring and summer we switch to floor season. Enjoy in-line skating during the spring.

- For select skating activities, Burnaby residents can reserve spots online or by phone 48 hours in advance. Non-Burnaby residents can make reservations 24 hours in advance. No waitlists are available. Pay when you arrive.
- Toonie Skate (all ages)
This public skate is a low-cost recreational opportunity. Admission is only $2.00 per person. Skates and helmet included in admission fee; free for children three years and younger. The ratio of children to adults must not be greater than 3 to 1. - Parent & Tot Skate & Hockey (2-5 years with an adult)
All children must be accompanied on the ice by an adult on skates or ice cleats. These sessions offer the perfect chance to introduce your child to skating. Choose your activity from a variety of stations and take part with your child in this fun-filled atmosphere. Skate rentals or ice cleats included. - Public Skate (all ages)

During family hockey & ringette, adults and children must attend together on the ice. The ratio of children to adults must not be greater than 3 to 1. This supervised session is a great opportunity for you and your family to play some fun, non-competitive hockey together. A CSA-approved helmet with face mask or visor and hockey gloves are mandatory. We strongly recommend that all players wear full hockey equipment. Sticks are not provided. Reserve in advance online or drop-in if spots are available. 2 days in advance for Burnaby residents. 1 day in advance for non-Burnaby residents. - Adult Hockey Drop-in (18 years and up)
Full hockey equipment and a CSA-approved helmet with face mask or visor and hockey gloves are mandatory. Games are not supervised and no-check rules apply. Reserve in advance online or drop-in if spots are available. 2 days in advance for Burnaby residents. 1 day in advance for non-Burnaby residents. - Adult Shoot & Score (18 years & up)
This is a great opportunity to work on your stickhandling and shooting skills. A CSA-approved helmet with face mask or visor and hockey gloves are mandatory. No instruction provided. Children's admission policy
Children 7 years of age or younger MUST be accompanied on the ice by a person 16 years of age or older on skates. The ratio of children to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1. We do not recommend that parents / guardians leave their children under 10 years old unaccompanied at our facility. For children 12 years and under, a CSA-approved helmet is mandatory.
