Jarvis Church has worn many hats during his fascinatingly varied and successful musical career. He first rose to prominence as the front man for The Philosopher Kings, the ground-breaking R 'n B-rooted pop group that gained popularity across Canada in the ‘90s. He then turned to producing and songwriting alongside bandmate Brian West and was instrumental in Nelly Furtado's rise to international stardom. While he continues to write and produce for a range of artists (including K'Naan), he also records and performs as Jarvis Church. If forced to choose a single role, Jarvis would without hesitation select “soul singer.”
