The Parkway Alive Community Partner Program is piloting a limited one-time funding opportunity in the range of $1,000 to $5,000, to support registered non-profit organizations who wish to partner with the City to host a small-scale community event at Metrotown and Patterson SkyTrain station on select dates between July to August to help transform and bring the parkway alive!
Applications are due on a rolling basis, latest by Sunday, May 31.
This summer, the section of BC Parkway between Boundary Road and Metrotown SkyTrain Station will come alive! Starting on July 8, we’ll be hosting free, family fun activities along the Parkway all summer long. We’ll also be installing temporary furniture along the Parkway to make the space easier for you to linger in and enjoy, whenever you visit. Join us to enjoy music, games, arts and crafts, recreation activities, cultural experiences, food trucks, and more. With new experiences each week, you’ll want to make Parkway Alive a part of your summer routine!
When and where:
Metrotown SkyTrain Station:
Tuesdays, 5-8 pm (July to August)
Thursdays, 5-8 pm (July to August)
Patterson SkyTrain Station:
Sundays, 1-4 pm (July to August) (cancelled July 13)
Our Parkway Alive activities are a preview of our vision for Burnaby’s section of BC Parkway as a linear park, with spaces for relaxation, play, and special events. To find out more about what we’re planning, visit Burnaby.ca/BCParkway.
