A year-round multi-sport facility with 2 NHL-sized rinks and 2 multipurpose rooms

Enjoy public skates for all ages, skating lessons, or join a hockey, figure skating, ringette or other community-based sport group. In the spring and summer watch for indoor dry floor options, such as pickleball and summer camps, or participate with a community group like lacrosse or ball hockey.

EV charging stations

Starting November 13, 2024, we’ll be installing 25 new EV stations, ready for use by mid-January 2025. Installation will take about 4 weeks. From November 26-December 10, all public EV chargers will be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience

Activities

Browse winter activities and add favourites to your Wish List. Registration will open at 10 am for Burnaby residents on December 2 for Recreation activities (excluding skating lessons). General registration for everyone will be open December 6.

You can register for skating lessons 30 days in advance of the lesson start date at 10 am if you are a Burnaby resident, or 27 days in advance at 10 am if you are not.

  • Rink A - NHL-sized rink with 263 seating capacity
  • Rink B - NHL-sized rink with 148 seating capacity

  • Meeting room - 86 sq. m. and can accommodate up to 47 people for a seated event
  • Multi-purpose room - 178 sq. m. and can accommodate up to 96 for a seated event

You can rent hockey and figure skates at our shop for a fee. Helmets are available at no charge. Rosemary Brown Arena has skating assists available for people with disabilities.

Our Toonie Skate admission fee includes skate and helmet rental available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: A CSA-approved helmet is mandatory for all skating lessons and children 12 years and under.

A person 16 years of age or older must accompany children 7 years of age or younger on the ice or floor. The ratio of child to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1. We recommend that as parents, you don't leave your children under 10 years of age unaccompanied at our facility. For children 12 years and under, a CSA-approved helmet is mandatory.

Parking

There are 5 designated parking stalls.

Entry/Interior Access

  • Barrier free entry through the main entrance doors which are close to parking.
  • Doors are automatic for entry into the facility, rinks and toilets.
  • Rink A and B are accessible for participants and spectators.
  • Elevator access to the second floor.

Washrooms

  • Accessible washrooms are provided on each floor.
  • All dressing rooms have accessible showers.

Rosemary Brown has been designed to ensure the facility is accessible to those with mobility challenges including barrier free access to the facility and rinks for both spectators and participants, elevators, automatic doors, and accessible washrooms and changerooms.
