Specifications

Rentals include:

  • Use of the designated room 
  • Set-up and takedown of the tables and chairs (please bring your own decorations, serving supplies and equipment)
  • Built-in sound system (cordless and corded microphones available)
  • Use of projector screen and TV if available in that room

The following items are available to rent for additional fees:

Additional fees for liability insurance may be applicable.

All rentals are required to comply with Fire, Health and Safety and City Bylaws.

Set-up and Clean-up

Set-up and takedown times must form part of the booked hours and are charged the regular rental fee.

A blank floor plan is provided with your rental contract. Fill in the number of tables and chairs required and submit 2 weeks prior to your booking date. The custodial staff will complete the set-up and arrangement of the tables and chairs before your booking begins. We offer a choice of round or rectangular tables.

Rectangular tables:

  • Table dimensions: 6' x 3' x 2.5'

Round tables:

  • Table dimensions: 5' diameter (60 in.)

Chairs:

  • Multipurpose room 1 and 2: Blue hard plastic chairs
  • Multipurpose room 3, 6 and Active Studio: Grey hard plastic chairs

At the end of your event, the table surfaces and counter areas are to be wiped clean. Please place all garbage in the garbage bins provided. Please remove all food, supplies and equipment following your event (overnight storage is not permitted). Our custodial staff will clean the floors and put away the tables and chairs.

Food

May be served potluck style or you may hire a licensed caterer. All food must stay in the room and cannot be taken into any lobby areas or hallways.

Alcohol

To serve alcohol at your event, please apply for a Special Event Permit through BC Liquor and Cannabis Licensing (BCLC). Please present the permit to the facility reservations clerk at least 2 weeks prior to your event date. A copy of the Liquor Licence must be posted during your event.

Cancellation Policy

All rentals are subject to the City of Burnaby Parks, Recreation & Culture Refund Policy.

Liability insurance

Commercial general liability insurance is required to rent any City facility- please check with the facility for specific requirements. You may purchase insurance through an independent broker of your choice, or receive a quote through AON Insurance
