Council meets regularly to debate and decide on issues that concern you. These meetings also offer residents a chance to hear all the arguments and understand the reason behind council's decisions.

Meetings are held at Burnaby City Hall twice a month on Monday evenings at 5 pm. Please check the calendar to confirm date and location details.

Interim Update to the Burnaby Housing Needs Report

Council received an interim update to the Burnaby Housing Needs Report, which details Burnaby’s housing needs over the next 20 years. Compared to the 2021 Housing Needs Report, this update includes substantial increases to the targets for how much housing Burnaby needs to create. This significant jump is due to new methodology from the Province.

Earthquake Strategies and Actions Framework

Council approved the preliminary framework for the Burnaby Strategies and Actions for Earthquake Resilience (B-SAFER) strategy, and authorized staff to move forward with the development of a detailed strategy for Burnaby’s earthquake response and recovery efforts. The development of B-SAFER will include input from residents, stakeholders and First Nations.
