Speedbump installation notice

Hammarskjold Dr is closed 7 am-8 pm on Friday, August 29 due to speedbump installation. We will remain open for Public swim (1-5 pm) and encourage patrons to consider using cycling, transit or rideshare options to get to the pool.

Annual maintenance closure

Kensington Outdoor pool will be closed September 2-21 for annual maintenance. Check out our other swimming pools in the meantime. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Reminder: Swim lessons run rain or shine at outdoor pools. Please check the web page in advance as the pool will close if extreme weather—a notice will be posted by 10 am if we are closed.

Register for swim lessons

If you are a Burnaby resident, you can register for swimming lessons 30 days in advance of the start date. General registration opens 27 days in advance. This will provide more opportunities for swimming lesson registrations.

6 lane, 22.86-metre (25 yards) pool with a depth of 1-3.5 metres (1-11 feet)
Pool temperature: 28.5-30°C (weather dependent)
1 metre diving board (closed until further notice)
Change rooms and shower houses (heated for fall and winter)
Covered and heated pool deck area for fall and winter
Lockers in change rooms are not coin operated, please bring your own lock.
Wading pools are free and open starting May 31, 2025, during Public Swim hours.

Children 7 years of age and younger and less than 122 centimetres (48 inches) tall, must be accompanied in the water by a person 16 years of age or older and be within arm's reach of that person at all times. The ratio of children to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1.

Water wheelchair and accessible parking is available for use.
