Inclusion of Fairs, Festivals and Cultural Events as ‘not-for-profit’ businesses for the purpose of issuing a Burnaby Business Licence
Council has approved a motion to consider fairs, festivals and cultural events as “not-for-profit” businesses for the purpose of issuing business licences. This aims to reduce barriers for small food vendors and make it easier for them to participate in local community events.
Proposed Bylaw Amendments – Heights-Based Development Framework
Council approved proposed amendments to the Burnaby Zoning Bylaw and the Burnaby Consolidated Fees and Charges Bylaw to implement a new height-based development framework, which aims to simplify the City’s development process in line with recent provincial changes. The amendments also include updates to zoning and development fees to help make processes more transparent and efficient for developers and residents.
