Public Notices: Statutory public notices are published on the City’s website and in the City’s eNewsletter.

Council meets regularly to debate and decide on issues that concern you. These meetings also offer residents a chance to hear all the arguments and understand the reason behind council's decisions.

Meetings are held at Burnaby City Hall twice a month on Monday evenings at 5 pm. Please check the calendar to confirm date and location details.

Brentwood Community Centre Project Update

City Council approved a budget for the design and construction of a new Brentwood Community Centre, to address the growing needs for multi-use recreational space in the Brentwood Town Centre. The proposed community centre would include: double gymnasium and strength training/fitness facility, multipurpose rooms, meeting rooms, childminding and preschool spaces, arts, music and creative spaces. The City also approved additional budget for the creation of a rooftop podium park as part of the new community centre.

Draft Urban Forest Strategy

City Council approved the draft Urban Forest Strategy, a science-based, practical, and unifying vision designed to align efforts across City departments and foster a shared commitment to tree protection and management. The Urban Forest Strategy outlines actions to grow Burnaby’s tree canopy cover from 32% in 2022 to 40% by 2040.
