On September 19, 2022, Lynne Axford, Chief Election Officer for the City of Burnaby, officially declared that an election by voting is to be held for the Office of Councillor and School Trustee.

Burnaby City Hall will be closed and some City services will be reduced on Monday, September 19 in observance of the funeral for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
